Be Still: Let Go of Uncertainty and Let Intuition Move You Forward

We talked last week about uncertainty feeling like being stuck in the mud. When I become still, I can feel the shift. Everything cycles — and now it’s time to move forward, out of muddy uncertainty, and allow intuition to guide us again.

I’ve always known I should trust my intuition. But how many times have I allowed my ego or outside influences to get in my head and steer me in the wrong direction?

For example: a doctor prescribes medication, but it isn’t helping. The side effects aren’t unbearable, so you tell yourself it’s fine — even though nothing is improving. Your ego argues that you haven’t given it enough time. You convince yourself you’re too busy to go back to the doctor. You ignore the little voice inside that says, “This isn’t right.” Time goes on. Still no change. Maybe your symptoms even get worse. We see the warning signs, but we let our ego convince us that maintaining the current course is easier. What do I know? I’m not a doctor, you think. Maybe it’s working and I just can’t feel it yet.

At that point, we’ve turned away from our inner knowing.

But intuition keeps communicating — through pain, nagging thoughts, and quiet signals asking us to pay attention. There are many chances to turn back toward what we know is right: a side effect that is harder to ignore, a worsening symptom, or a feeling that something just isn’t aligned. The more we ignore intuition, the louder it becomes.

So take a moment to tune in. Speak your intuition out loud with someone you trust — including your doctor. “This medicine isn’t helping. My body is not responding well, and I’m sick to my stomach every day.” When we honor our intuition and advocate for ourselves, we find the path back to feeling better.

A few weeks ago, after work, my fiancé came to pick me up. The car wouldn’t start — the battery had died — and my father came to jump it so we could get home.

Our car is nearly 13 years old. The battery issue was a small inconvenience, but also a clear warning sign that it’s time to start planning for a replacement. We could ignore it and say we don’t have the time or money to deal with a new car right now — but then the next breakdown might leave us stranded with no time left to prepare.

Instead, we took the hint and began researching our next car before the situation becomes urgent.

If you are my client, you know that I conduct every part of my massage by listening to my intuition. I encourage you to do the same — to communicate any pain, any emotion, any sensation that arises. The more you speak from an intuitive place, the greater the transformation.

A common concern clients share is pain in the mid-back — that space between the low back and shoulder blades. Often they sit at a desk much of the day. Intuition tells me to look beyond the site of the discomfort. Legs that pull on the lower body. Stress held in the ribs. I’ve learned over time that different emotions show up in different areas of the body. The ribs often hold fear — whether everyday worries or long-buried trauma. And yes, don’t worry, we will go deeper into that in a future post.

When working, I release the low back, ribs, and shoulders — letting my fingers find every attachment to the ribs and gently create space between them. It can feel like slowly untangling a knotted necklace. The first thing clients usually say is, “I can breathe better.” That is the sign we’re on the right path.

Communicating intuitively will change your life. I used to believe it was difficult — but now that I practice it daily, I can’t imagine living any other way. My intuition has taken the lead.
